Hi! My name is Stephanie. I am a feminine presenting non-binary individual and my pronouns are they/them/theirs. 🙂

I have been lucky to be born in Chicago, where I spent weekends and school breaks with my grandparents. They have called Little Village their home since they immigrated from Mexico in the 1980s. It is through them that I carry a deep love and appreciation for our culture: our food, music, film, our intricate rituals of spirituality, our resiliency against obstacles, our desire for community and to connect with one another.

Growing up in the suburbs, I felt disjointed, and by the time I finished high school, I knew traditional education was not for me. I’ve always held a love for the visual; be it makeup, fashion, etc. I began working in fashion retail, where, with so many of my coworkers coming from different backgrounds, I found joy in their beauty, creativity, and confidence to exist on their terms. They helped me feel beautiful, and I wanted to give that to others as well.

I decided to pursue school to become an esthetician. It was a difficult journey, especially in the middle of a pandemic, but I graduated in May of 2022 from New Age Spa Institute. I came to Tres Jolie because Dr. Perez saw a lack of accessible aesthetic services in an area that, despite the demand, had barriers preventing direct access. Working here instills in me the dedication to provide services and care for people in communities who feel there are hurdles between them and becoming their best self.

Being a laser technician at Tres Jolie, I want to dedicate most of my time to become great at my role. I am an incredibly ambitious person and want to take everything on, but I genuinely hope to learn permanent makeup artistry and become a lash extension artist in the future.

In my free time I love watching tv shows and movies (some favs are Nope, Hereditary, The Rehearsal, What We Do In The Shadows), cooking, eating at new-to-me restaurants, and even though I am a self-admitting hobby jumper, adding a new hobby to my list. I also do my best to be involved in my community, both those I am a part of and where I live, either by participating in beautification efforts, finding local organizations to volunteer for, or just providing care to people around me.
